Salary: $72,000-$82,000

Job Summary

The Catering & Events Manager will focus on hospitality and the event experience for the Google Food program in order to support operational excellence. This position reports into the Catering Director and will leverage their strong communication, hospitality and event planning skills to partner with key stakeholders (our partner, culinary, marketing, event concept development, procurement, risk management, operations and people approach) to promote Google Food expectations and enhance user (partner) experience.

This role is based in New York, NY.

The great things you will be expected to do:

  • Designs, manages and owns the overall experience, not just the offerings

  • Sets an expectation of hospitality that is friendly and engaging

  • Has a Passion for quality food preparation and taste

  • Ensure that all daily catering orders are processed, and fulfilled to our partner and sector expectations

  • Develops specialty menus and events per clients needs, budget and unit guidelines

  • Trains, develops and schedules catering associates and is actively involved in the development of existing associates in service techniques, menu presentation, merchandising, policies and procedures

  • Conducts all employee reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions in a professional and timely manner

  • Ensures all sector and Compass employee guidelines are implemented and adhered to

  • Promotes a culture of Food and Workplace Safety

  • Treats everyone with professionalism, care and respect.

  • Responds to all comments and complaints within 24 hours and follows up with
    a written or verbal response

  • Communicates with our Partner honestly, accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Meets all timelines for quarter and year-end reports given by our Partner and Sector Employer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • Has a minimum of 3-5 years similar work experience

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Proactive mindset and able to remain calm under pressure to anticipate and support changes in our business

  • Strong passion for great food and hospitality

  • Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines

  • Creates a culture of food and workplace safety

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
