Job Summary
As an HR Generalist, your primary role is to provide critical support across the Human Resources function, meeting the needs of both the business and our associates. This role requires significant experience working with unionized environments, handling HR investigations, and ensuring HR compliance. This is a hybrid role with airport-paid parking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Labor Relations and Compliance: Ensure consistent application of all HR and labor-related policies, with a strong focus on union environments. Provide guidance and support on disciplinary actions and serve as a coach for management and associates on complex HR issues. Conduct on-site investigations to maintain fair and compliant practices.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee PeopleHub for recruiting and onboarding of hourly associates, ensuring seamless integration and compliance.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and revise HR and CBA policies and procedures to align with both regulatory standards and organizational goals.
- HR Reporting and Analytics: Regularly review HR activity reports to monitor trends and compliance, ensuring informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity initiatives, including recruitment, retention, and promotion of a diverse workforce. Lead corporate diversity activities and assigned tasks.
- Performance Management: Support the annual performance appraisal process and assist in creating Personal Development Plans for associates, fostering growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required
- Certifications: PHR or SPHR designation is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a large, multi-unit organization. Experience with union relations and HR investigations required. Management experience is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced skills preferred. Strong presentation and communication skills are required.
- Training and Development: Training certification (such as Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey) is a plus, as is experience in a centralized HR environment.
