Job Summary
We’re seeking a dedicated HR Generalist with robust experience in recruiting, onboarding, conflict management, and a strong understanding of union environments (preferred). In this role, you will be a key player in supporting our Human Resources function to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our business and our associates.
This role is based on-site at Dulles Airport, with complimentary parking included for team members. Additional travel to DCA Airport is required, depending on business need.
In This Role, You Will:
- Champion HR Policies and Compliance: Ensure all company HR-related policies are applied consistently, while maintaining compliance with all federal and state laws.
- Provide Strategic Guidance: Coach associates and management through complex issues, offer guidance on appropriate disciplinary actions, and assist with on-site investigations.
- Lead Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee hourly recruitment and onboarding through MyOpportunity, ensuring a seamless and positive new hire experience.
- Promote Associate Engagement: Manage and coordinate associate recognition programs, and support the internal customer and engagement survey interpretation and feedback process.
- HR Data Management: Regularly review HR activity reports, oversee performance and merit increase monitoring, and manage data for bonus administration.
- Drive Training and Development Initiatives: Facilitate classroom training, deliver HR-related topics, and provide ongoing coaching to elevate team performance.
- Foster a Culture of Diversity and Inclusion: Act as the diversity champion, supporting recruitment, retention, and promotion goals, while leading assigned corporate diversity initiatives.
- Support Growth and Development: Assist in creating Personal Development Plans and actively participate in the Annual Performance Appraisal process.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Expertise: PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred, with three+ years of HR generalist experience; management experience is a plus.
- Experience in Large, Multi-Unit Settings: Previous experience in a corporate, centralized HR environment is essential.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to respond effectively to inquiries, present confidently, and handle complex issues with professionalism.
- Training and Coaching Acumen: Training certification (e.g., Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey) is a plus, along with a passion for developing others.
