Job Summary

Transportation Manager is responsible for the effective leadership of all logistics and communications for the transportation department, including supervisors. This key role is tasked with quality assurance, performance, and productivity for all deliveries, including the organization of the loading dock, truck lot, and light maintenance of vehicles. The Transportation Manager will also provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

Essential Functions

  • Complete daily run sheets in coordination with the Logistics Manager
  • Organize daily rentals for ease of pickup
  • Effectively communicate with multiple departments, including Culinary, Expediting, Warehouse and Sales to ensure accuracy of load-ins and loadouts
  • Prepare end of shift reports and handovers for all teams
  • Direct workflows of drivers and MODs, especially for second runs
  • Directly responsible for the inspection of all trucks and damage reporting
  • Collaborate with Sales Team to ensure efficient deliveries and gather details to ensure compliance at all venues
  • Responsible for taking MOD On-Call/Emergency Line while on shift
  • Ensure proper organization of all returns, including rentals, beverages, and warehouse items
  • Utilize computer system to check accuracy of orders
  • Collaborate with peers to drive compliance and driver training
  • Assist in loading trucks where necessary

Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate a computer and utilize multiple programs and platforms such as Lightspeed, Microsoft Office etc.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and catering terminology
  • Experience with answering phones and effective, courteous communication
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and time management abilities
  • Ability to think independently and demonstrate good problem-solving skills

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 Years Microsoft Office Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience working in hospitality, operations or in transportation
  • Preferred 1 year or more of supervision experience
  • Experience driving box trucks (16'-24') - CDL NOT required. DOT certification application required upon hire (medical and drug test required).
