Job Summary

Working as a Cafe & Restaurant Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the food service operations. This means adhering to the Client’s culture and guidelines, the Health Department’s regulations, and CulinArt's standards and expectations of food quality, freshness, and presentation. This position leads all aspects of the daily administrative and operational tasks, including financial management and analysis, sanitation, and safety.

This position also motivates trains, develops, and directs all employees to accomplish the objectives of the operation to the satisfaction of the customers, and maintains a working relationship with the Client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of POS technology to increase the speed of service and reduce lines
  • Financial Management and Compliance
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Inventory Control monitoring products to ensure availability
  • Resolves customer's issues and builds customer loyalty by providing a unique, and exceptional customer experience
  • Ensure effective tracking of new food initiatives
  • Responsible for keeping retail operations equipment in good working order
  • Work to implement and promote green initiatives
  • Ensure all QA and sanitation standards are maintained
  • Ensure dress code, uniform, and personal appearance of staff are kept to the highest standard
  • Coordinate daily signage and development of marketing material
  • Maintain Open Communication with on Site Management Team and Culinary Team
  • Manage the Retail locations managers
  • Collaborate with client event operations team on planning and promoting special events

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus one (1) year of directly related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of retail operational food service management experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentation
  • Experience with cash retail operations required
  • Retail marketing experiences are highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate on various levels including management, customer, and associate levels
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices
  • Proficient digital literacy including; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and the Internet
  • Excellent organizational skills with good conflict resolution.
  • Proven leadership and mentor skills.
  • Great decision-making skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
