Job Summary
Senior Director - Marketing & Communications
- Reports To: Chief Creative Officer
- Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid: (Tues,Wed,Thurs in office / Mon & Fri remote)

The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications develops, leads and inspires the team and scalable strategies and plans for Levy, Levy subsectors (i.e. restaurants, sports, retail, etc), field locations and it’s team members. Through all efforts, the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications focuses on critical thinking and creative problem solving to drive market distinction, revenue growth (new and existing locations), brand and concept development, storytelling and team member engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guides and inspires the marketing & communications team to deliver on the department’s defined value proposition, live company and team values and meet or exceed team objectives and individual goals, all of which is reviewed and refined annually in service of overall Company objectives.
- Builds a team culture that positively recognizes and celebrates the team, wins, and provides open and transparent communication, including constructive feedback.
- Annually sets plan for team interaction and development including: monthly team meetings, direct report meetings, learning and enrichment opportunities through Training & Talent Development that provides company updates, opportunity for new learnings and an open dialogue for collaboration that is in the moment and future forward.
- Sets annual resourcing schedule based on collaboration with Division Presidents informed by prioritized venues and evaluated based on retention cycle and capital investment.
- Leads the annual budgeting process for team operating budget in partnership with Finance team and manages team spends/allocations.
- Advises team leads as respective marketing and communications plans are developed across venues and sectors for new business openings or wins.
- Oversees the development of templates and best practices for implementation at a venue level.
- Seeks and develops new chef and industry partnerships and alliances to drive awareness, relevancy, and revenue.
- Contributes to new business RFPs as the marketing & communications expert for the New Business Sales Support team.
- Leverages internal and external data, research, and analytics insights to analyze and identify opportunities for growth, brand relevancy and guest engagement at macro and individual concept level.
- Develops and implements program for on-going sharing of department case stories and processes to optimize cross-functional collaboration and scalability.
- Ongoing brand maintenance and evolution for Levy family of brands and subsectors/subsidiaries
- Identify new platforms to grow Levy’s internal and external food storytelling to reach new audiences.
YOU
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- At least ten years of Marketing and Communications experience in food and beverage, hospitality or related field and has an understanding of the local, regional and national market
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications a plus
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team
- Requires strong leadership with proven ability to identify, develop and retain top talent
- Curious, creative and "always learning" by nature
- Strategic planning and presentation skills and the ability to create a motivating work environment
- Possess an entrepreneurial mentality, with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- High EQ
- Excellent verbal communicator and storyteller
- Ability to pivot, multitask and perform at a high-level in a fast-paced environment
