Job Summary

This highly visible senior leadership role, reports to the SVP Culinary, will co-create and implement evolving, dynamic and innovative Food Programs provides high-level culinary expertise, creativity, and support to the R/A Culinary Strategy and teams. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for the culinary quality, innovation, and experience of the operations teams of their assigned business locations. The Supervising Chef sets the standards for BOH operating systems and QA standards, safety, culinary training, will inspire, motivate, develop and lead team members to be their best in their career while delivering delicious, nutritious food and exceptional service. We look for a candidate with a proven track-record of accomplishments, demonstrated diverse team building, leadership experience, meeting key performance indicators, dedication to results, including but not limited to:

The Supervising Chef has ownership for the overall success of the RA’s positioning and growth. With demonstrated passion for quality food preparation and taste, you work collaboratively with cross function teams of professional who curate our Culture of CARE and believe in crafting innovative solutions to problems, and implementation of strategic actions, new food programs, additionally oversight to compliance with processes and systems. 
 Responsibilities: 

  • Designs, leads and oversees the overall food experience, not just the offerings
  • Promotes a culture of Food and Workplace Safety
  • Ensure and provide flawless upscale, professional and best in class guest service experiences for multi units
  • Ensures following RA purchasing standards and sustainability commitments.
  • Works with Unit’s VPs to ensure culinary excellence, stuffing and meeting client demands
  • Works with RA’s catering companies for better efficiencies 
  • Responsible for culinary stuffing for region’s events and units support
  • Conduct regular unit audits and reports results, insights and timely solutions 
  • Advises on food cost while ensuring quality standards
  • Maintain an active role in managing team developments
  • Responsible for building a diverse culinary staff
  • Build, write and upload menus for café, catering, coffee bars as well as core menus

Qualifications:

  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program.
  • 6-8 years progressive hospitality management experience in leading teams in restaurant luxury operations
  • P&L and financial reporting experience
  • Strong leadership, mentorship and training skills
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Related experience in upscale, high volume food service operations
  • Must be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food
  • Good Knowledge of Executive dining rooms as well as catering
  • This position requires 25% travel or as business requires
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification 
  • Hospitality driven with demonstrated experiences of leading innovation who possesses ground-breaking and critical thinking; with Passion, knowledge and appreciation of culinary arts, food and dining
  • Takes Ownership & pro-actively uses the right influencing techniques to gain the vital commitment and support from others, both internally and externally while maintaining a positive demeanor
