Job Summary

Step into the spotlight as the Catering Chef at the world-renowned Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

In this role, you’ll take charge of the culinary operations for high-profile catered events, delivering exceptional dining experiences that match the prestige of this iconic venue. From intimate gatherings to grand galas, you’ll be responsible for developing innovative menus, leading a talented kitchen team, and ensuring every dish is a masterpiece. If you’re a hardworking and entrepreneurial chef with a flair for creativity and a love for the fast-paced catering world, this is the perfect chance to create your mark.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to craft and execute custom menus for a wide variety of events at the Kennedy Center.
  • Lead the culinary team in preparing and presenting fabulous dishes for large-scale, high-profile catered events.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including food cost control, inventory management, and staffing, to ensure flawless execution.
  • Introduce new culinary concepts and programs in line with industry trends and company goals.
  • Mentor and supervise kitchen staff, encouraging a culture of teamwork and excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or relevant certification with proven experience in catering or high-volume foodservice.
  • Expertise in menu creation and event execution for high-end, large-scale catering.
  • Strong understanding of culinary trends, with a focus on presentation, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Institutional cooking experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and other computer applications.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
