Chartwells Higher Education is currently seeking an inspired Catering Executive Chef for Texas A&M University, a showcase account located in College Station, TX. This is your opportunity to lead culinary operations at a prestigious institution and ensure unforgettable dining experiences. Our Catering Executive Chef will provide onsite culinary expertise for all catering events and will manage culinary operations to meet production, presentation, and service standards. Events will range from coffee service to upscale galas, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to manage the catering process from planning to execution.
  • Uphold culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality assurance.
  • Design regular and modified menus that align with diverse needs and occasions.
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation in compliance with Company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies, ensuring availability while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and maintain department sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
  • Extensive catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences
  • Hands-on chef experience a must
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
