Job Summary
As the Catering Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in the culinary success of a dynamic corporate dining account. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you'll oversee the Catering Culinary Department, manage food preparation and cooking, and develop fresh, daily menu items. You'll lead hourly team members, assist in menu innovation, and help manage inventory and ordering. This role is ideal for a driven, creative culinary professional ready to contribute to an entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and budget oversight for the account.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning and creation.
- Lead the production and execution of catering events.
- Implement new culinary programs in partnership with company marketing and culinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Progressive experience in culinary or kitchen management.
- Background in catering preferred.
- Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
- Institutional and batch cooking experience beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost control, and presentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet.
- Commitment to client satisfaction programs and activities.
- ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
