Job Summary

 

The Digital Strategy Manager will serve as a liaison between Compass Digital (CD), senior field operations, and major clients for Chartwells.  The ideal candidate has a background in technology solutions coupled with a strong understanding of food service operations.

 

This role is a hands-on position that supports the digital strategy and consulting efforts of consumer facing technologies on campus including, but not limited to, mobile ordering, retail technology, point-of-sale, kiosks, and robotics. This individual will serve as the technology partner within the West Division, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and partners while supporting the larger strategic vision of digital growth.

 

This role reports into the VP, Digital Strategy, Education.

 

 

Job Description

 

  • Support the strategic vision for technology and the digital customer journey within the region based upon client and organization goals.
  • Professionally represent Compass Digital, customers and potential customers, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with campus operators to develop technology solutions that solve for operational and/or client challenges.
  • Establish regular technology planning for all venues within respective region, and report biweekly to leadership on campus technology status.
  • Participate in the new business sales and retention engagement process (e.g. RFP responses, presentations, demonstrations) by providing scope/budgetary estimates and analyses.
  • Advocate for the business units using existing technology resources and solutions to improve the operational efficiencies and campus dining experiences.
  • Partner with internal Compass Digital teams
  • Communicate key data insights around campus digital solution performance and understand how it plays a critical role in the work produced for the team.
  • Attend relevant business meetings (e.g. sector regional and divisional, zones and summits).
  • Serve as a leader within the team; recognized and sought after by peers for subject matter expertise on all things digital and technology.
  • Operate with minimal guidance and oversight, anticipating business needs and partnering across the organization to deliver solutions.
  • Participate in and support quarterly business reviews with clients, vendors, or internal teams.
  • Adopt a liaison role in the case of issues with major accounts.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years related experience in operations and/or technology
  • Proven success in strategy role supporting technology strongly preferred
  • Food service or hospitality industry experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • Must be results-driven with desire to achieve set goals
  • Exceptional problem-solving, business judgment, and analytical skills
  • Must be service-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Sharp presentation skills with the charisma to communicate digital solutions to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Operational knowledge a benefit
  • Travel (approximately 30%) required as business needs arise
