Job Summary

Are you an energetic leader with a passion for transforming dining experiences? We're seeking an engaging Director of Dining Services to lead our team in delivering outstanding service and unforgettable culinary adventures for Dallas Center-Grimes Schools located in Grimes, IA. From strategic planning to operational excellence, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our dining services, spending 80% of your time in the field to ensure hands-on leadership and direct impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of salaried managers and 60 frontline associates.
- Drive critical initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and increase profitability.
- Recruit, train, and develop top talent within the organization.
- Lead the annual budget and oversee costs effectively.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and associates.
- Market the program and effectively tell its story to engage customers.
- Hold staff accountable while encouraging an inclusive and engaging culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining service operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Services Technology/Management/Hospitality preferred or equivalent experience.
- Or Associates degree in a relevant field of study plus five years of food service management experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record to cultivate an inclusive and engaging culture.
- Experience managing high-demand clients.
- Solid knowledge of K12 food service experience is highly preferred.
- Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
