Job Summary
SUMMARY
The Energy Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing energy consumption across the Mount Sinai Health System, assisting with energy audits, and identifying opportunities for energy reduction. This entry-level role contributes to data analysis, reporting, and ensuring compliance with energy regulations, while playing a key part in optimizing energy use. Under the guidance of senior team members, the Energy Analyst supports energy management projects and provides essential energy engineering services. Additionally, the role is critical in maintaining Crothall Healthcare’s performance in delivering turnkey energy efficiency solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Accurately baseline energy consumption to the system/facility load level.
* Utilize instrumentation and existing building automation systems.
* Utilize web-based tracking systems such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager for benchmarking.
* Reporting energy data as necessary or required for compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
* Generate site and portfolio reports using utility bills and other operating data.
* Analyze energy consumption patterns and help evaluate the impact of energy efficiency initiatives.
* Assist in conducting energy audits and documenting results, identifying energy-saving opportunities.
* Monitor and document energy consumption across multiple sites, identifying trends and anomalies.
* Convert findings and proposals into financial reviews to justify energy efficiency investments.
* Maintain accurate records of energy data and update databases to ensure data integrity.
* Provide analytical support to senior energy analysts and the energy management team.
* Assist with tracking utility bills, verifying accuracy, and identifying billing discrepancies.
* Participate in energy-saving initiatives, working closely with the facility management team.
* Stay informed on industry trends, researching energy-saving technologies and strategies.
* Support the development of energy usage reports for internal stakeholders, converting data into comprehensible summaries, charts, and graphs.
QUALIFICATIONS
* BA/BS in Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, IT, or a similar analytical discipline is preferred.
* A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience with energy auditing and reporting is preferred.
Certification in Energy Management (e.g., EMIT, CEA) is preferred.
* Basic knowledge of central heating, cooling, and HVAC systems is desirable.
* Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools are essential.
* Basic understanding of energy management principles and practices is required.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary.
* Knowledge of industry-standard tracking tools for calculating baseline operating conditions
* Ability to estimate savings from various energy efficiency strategies.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
* Effectively work in a team-oriented/collaborative environment and independently (self-motivated).
* Basic knowledge of meters, their reading, and interpretation for energy tracking and reporting.
