Position Title: General Manager

Reports To: Director of Regional Culinary

Salary: Up to $100,000 based on exp

Other Forms of Compensation: Bonus

Founded in 2005 as Hudson Yards Catering, Union Square Events is a culinary and operations leader in the hospitality industry, partnering with a diverse portfolio of best-in-class clients. We produce one-of-a-kind catered events and unparalleled dining experiences in a variety of cultural, corporate, entertainment, and private venues throughout New York City and beyond.

Job Summary

The General Manager enhances bottom line profitability by leading all aspects of team development and sales growth strategies. They prioritize our standards and strive for elevated experiences for team members and guests. They inspire and motivate by encouraging inclusivity, clear communication, and strategic action planning.

This position is for Shake Shack at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, NJ

Job Responsibilities and Duties
Leads a team to increase sales and profits by overseeing Shack P&L, controlling costs, promoting operational excellence, and educating management on business insight and real-time impact on P&L.
Drives people planning - recruitment, development and retention - of a high performing, diverse team, at all levels while staffing for growth.
Displays effective leadership abilities and adaptability to meet evolving business demands. Guides team through challenges and promotes a culture of problem-solving that fosters brand growth and process improvement.
Delivers a remarkable guest and team experience that fosters dedication through solid operations execution, while finding ways to improve efficiency and productivity.
Adheres to all company policies and compliance rules, appropriate health codes and local jurisdiction food handling requirements, maintains food safety certifications and sets an outstanding example of food health safety practices to team.
Leads by example, holds self and team accountable and improves management team in shift management to increase results and ensure strong execution.
Encourages an environment of inclusivity to engage team, encourage collaboration and retain top talent.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to learn and train others on all aspects of the Shack operations
Skill in fostering hospitality and encouraging others to do the same
Must have the ability to mentor and develop others.
Requirements - Education, Experience, Physical, and Skills
Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Education or Certificate Details
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Safety and Hospitality, or equivalent experience, preferred.

Work Experience
2-4 years

Supervisory Experience

1-3 years

Related Experience
4-6 years related work experience with at least 2 years managerial/supervisory experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
Food handler certification according to local jurisdiction, strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
Detailed hand/eye coordination

Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions

Operation of heavy equipment or operation of vehicles
Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 10 lbs.

Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positions
Standing for long periods of time
