Job Summary
As the HR Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting our Human Resources function, ensuring it aligns with both business objectives and the needs of our associates. This position offers the unique benefits of paid airport parking and seeks candidates who bring a strong understanding of union environments. This is an onsite position located at LAX Airport. Flexibility to work nights and weekends based on business needs is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently apply all company HR and labor relations policies, with special attention to union agreements and collective bargaining compliance.
- Provide objective coaching to associates and managers, guiding them through complex issues and offering recommendations on disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
- Manage hourly recruitment and onboarding processes using PeopleHub, ensuring seamless integration for new hires.
- Maintain and coordinate associate recognition programs to promote engagement and retention.
- Ensure HR activities are fully compliant with all federal and state regulations.
- Generate, review, and analyze HR activity reports to provide valuable insights and inform decision-making.
- Actively support the interpretation of internal customer and associate engagement surveys, facilitating feedback sessions and action planning.
- Increase HR visibility by attending departmental meetings, conducting training sessions, and implementing HR initiatives.
- Review and approve pay adjustments and status changes to uphold internal equity.
- Lead diversity initiatives, focusing on recruitment, retention, and career development for a diverse workforce.
- Collaborate on the creation of Personal Development Plans and facilitate performance appraisals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required
- PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
- Bilingual skills are preferred to better serve our diverse workforce.
- Minimum of 3 years’ HR generalist experience, with experience in unionized environments strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in large, multi-unit organizations and centralized HR settings.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Training certifications (e.g., Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey) a plus.
