Job Summary
The primary role of the Medical Device Integration Analyst is to support the operations of the Healthcare Technology Management Department with regards to production CE/IT systems and of various Medical Device Integration (MDI) projects. These operations entail responding to trouble calls, identifying fault conditions and remediating if capable or contacting and teaming with Clinical Informatics and Information Management resources to resolve issues. The Medical Device Integration Analysis will utilize downtime plans, logistics, and training to support the operational data workflows of the production environment. The Medical Device Integration Analyst will ensure clinical equipment systems are interfaced or integrated with various information systems in a consistent dependable manner and in accordance with conventional practices, the client’s Medical Equipment Management Plan and the Crothall Healthcare Technology Solutions program.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate on medical device integration requirements with clinical users, Clinical Informatics and Information Management staff. Assist with design of medical device integration solutions.
Knowledgeable of the operation and have experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of medical equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot hardware and software to ensure data connections.
Knowledgeable of and develop working skills to the level attainable for all server based applications that Healthcare Technology Management is responsible. Act as primary System Administrator for these systems.
Serve as a reference source for healthcare technology management and clinical staff with regards to appropriate procedures for the integration of clinical equipment to the information system.
Provide mentoring and education to Biomedical Equipment Technicians in the first response of MDI trouble calls.
Coordinate activities with device support personnel, technical teams and application teams.
Develop of test data, system/integration testing and documentation for all phases of the development life cycle.
Ensure quality of device integration and application functionality.
Coordinate with purchasing, equipment manufacturers, facilities and information management regarding procurement, upgrades and replacement of medical devices.
Ensure all existing and future medical devices comply with medical device security requirements to ensure protection of PHI.
Contribute to user training curriculum.
Assist in performing routine system maintenance and builds.
Analyze, interpret and present data produced by medical devices
Provide informal training to equipment users and the company staff as requested or when circumstances dictate.
Maintain an orderly and functional work environment.
Provide emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
Document all work and projects in compliance with department practices.
Demonstrate leadership and assume responsibilities of DBMS when required.
Collaborate with fellow technical personnel in department meetings to ensure they are kept abreast of technical updates and/or device related problems.
Demonstrate and reflect a commitment to the mission and values of the company.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associates degree in electronics / biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience.
Min 3 years servicing a broad representation of clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment. Certification (s) preferred.
