- We are hiring immediately for a MAINTENANCE PARKING TECHNICAN position.
- Location: USF - 4202 E Fowler Ave, Tampa, FL 33620. Openings at other locations within school district available. Note: online applications accepted only.
- Schedule: Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs.
- Requirement: Previous experience required.
- Pay Range: $16.00 to $19.00

Job Summary
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing general repairs and maintenance across USF Parking and Transportation facilities, including buildings, parking lots, and parking structures. The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure all facilities and equipment remain in good working condition. Technicians will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks and should be trained and qualified in one or more specific craft areas.
Examples of Duties
The following are examples of typical duties for this position. Specific tasks may vary, and not all duties listed may be assigned to every position within this job class. Additional duties may be required as necessary.
- Perform repairs on surface lots, including curbs, asphalt, potholes, tire stops, and parking signage. Paint parking spaces, curbs, and garage interiors.
- Set up and remove parking and directional signage, cones, barricades, and other equipment for regular and special events.
- Assist with hurricane preparation, including clearing roof drains, filling and delivering sandbags, setting up and removing safety/advisory signs, cones, and bike barricades, as well as securing Parking and Transportation facilities and equipment.
- Maintain signs, fixtures, power tools, golf carts, and trucks by checking fluid levels, fuel, and completing daily vehicle inspection logs.
- Inspect and replace light fixtures and lamps in parking garages, replace bulbs, make minor adjustments to switches and electrical controls, and perform safety inspections on emergency devices.
- Operate pressure washers and other cleaning equipment to clean buildings, equipment, bus shelters, stairwells, and elevator landings.
- Perform other miscellaneous maintenance duties as needed or requested.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
A high school diploma is required, along with 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience. A valid Florida Driver’s License may be required if operating motorized vehicles.
Special Working Conditions
This position may require working in confined spaces, outdoors, and in adverse weather conditions. The role may also involve working during holidays and emergencies, with "on-call" responsibilities as needed.
