Job Summary
Working as a Project Manager - Sterile Processing, you are responsible for support assignments to prospective, new, and existing Sterile Processing Services accounts. As a support resource, you will be assigned by a senior operator (RVP, RDO, and RRM) to conduct surveys of potential client facilities, assist on presentations, plan and implement start-ups of new business, audit and/or re-engineer existing accounts, recruit and train management or hourly personnel, and perform other operations, program development, instructing, research or troubleshooting assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient in the understanding and operation of corporate operating systems and software tools
- Collects and analyzes facility data including occupancy data and develops appropriate staffing levels based on industry standards, company benchmarking and personal experience
- Surfaces hard to collect data through direct interviews, observation, experience and other methods - strategically estimates labor components for each function and area; evaluates and determines capital equipment needs based on staffing and function needs
- Identifies "hot spots" and program issues to be included in sales presentations
- Identifies and develops a corrective plan for quality and service issues
- Functions as the Start up Captain for all new accounts; develops the strategic plan, and coordinates assets and other logistics related to start the new business
- Implements all Crothall programs according to the proposal, Company standard and costing
- Troubleshoots problem accounts, reviewing system implementation and application; provides support, training and recommendations to the on site management team
- Coordinates "Foundations" level accounts for new and ongoing development of managers
- Provides orientation and management training to existing and new management teams
- Conducts Mid-Year, Year-end, Quality Assurance, AAMI/TJC, Sterilization Record, and Compliance Audits using tools provided
- Implements and completes special projects such as tracking software database correction, tray streamline utilization, and Wrap to Rigid Program
- Plans, develops, implements and manages policies, procedures, proficiencies, informative activities and quality assurance programs related to acquisitions, decontamination, storage, and sterilization of medical, surgical supplies, materials and mobile patient care equipment used in the delivery of patient care and treatment ensuring compliance with administrative and regulatory standards within the healthcare facility
- Provides leadership and oversight to supervisors, coordinators and technicians ensuring high standard of customer happiness and fiscal responsibilities; serves as a resource to the surgical services team and healthcare facility systems committees regarding sterilization process, procedures and assists in changes as needed
- Maintains liaison with representatives of local, regional and national sterile processing providers as well as regulatory agencies to establish resources for current trends and regulations within the service
- Establishes and maintains sterilization, safety/security standards and policies/procedures for Sterile Processing to ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, EPA, FDA, Joint Commission and state and local regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Healthcare or equivalent experience preferred
- Proven experience working in the sterile processing management field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience directly managing high-volume sterile processing department
- Support local NYC accounts as well as accounts across the US - 70-80% travel required in role
- CRCST certification required
