Job Summary

The Senior Google Looker Developer is a critical resource for the ongoing development and enhancement of data visualization and reporting solutions using the Google Looker platform. The Senior Google Looker Developer will collaborate with multiple teams to maintain and develop new features/functionality to support the business needs, with a strong emphasis on SQL, Python/R, machine learning, Snowflake, data and systems analysis skills, and integrating diverse data sources. Exposure to converting from Looker Studio to Looker is also desirable.

Job Responsibilities

  • Independently develop, maintain, and extend a stable production, development, and testing environment for the Google Looker platform.
  • Create, modify, and implement sophisticated data visualizations and reporting solutions that adhere to industry standards.
  • Write, test, debug, and document SQL queries, LookML, and Python/R scripts for data analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct comprehensive data and systems analysis to ensure efficient performance and integration of diverse data sources.
  • Independently research and resolve complex technical problems in both production and non-production environments.
  • Serve as a top-level technical contributor in the specialized area of data visualization and reporting system architecture with deep technical knowledge.
  • Lead and oversee complex data projects as a skilled team lead or manager.
  • Formulate and define the scope and objectives for data visualization and reporting systems based on customer requirements.
  • Research, develop, and modify well-designed and efficient architecture components that conform to architectural standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for data projects of moderate to high complexity, involving various project-related activities.
  • Collaborate with multiple business owners to drive forward the development and enhancement of Google Looker dashboards and reports.
  • Build and maintain internal and external-facing Google Looker modules using SQL and LookML.
  • Integrate diverse data sources into the Looker platform for comprehensive reporting and analysis.
  • Work with clients to identify target use cases for automation and define and document business and functional requirements for software development.
  • Support and assist in the conversion process from Looker Studio to Looker.

Job Qualifications

  • An educational background in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Solid experience with SQL, Python/R, machine learning, and Snowflake.
  • Proven data and systems analysis skills.
  • Google Looker certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing advanced Looker reports, dashboards, and LookML models.
  • Ability to set up data security via control rules and domain separation.
  • In-depth hands-on experience with Google Looker configuration and development.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Experience with integrating diverse data sources.
  • Exposure to converting from Looker Studio to Looker.
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of Google Looker.
  • Strong communication skills required to effectively convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Upbeat self-starter able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High sense of ownership, responsibility, and dedication to quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Effective organization, collaboration, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in the facilities management industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and other relevant software.
