Job Summary

As a Sous Chef at Wolfgang Puck Catering's Union Station Commissary in Dallas, you will play a pivotal role in the culinary success of our catering and multiple accounts across the city. This position offers a unique opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance while assisting in all aspects of the food program. You will oversee culinary operations, including planning, ordering, inventory management, and food preparation. Your responsibilities include upholding the client's culture and guidelines, adhering to Health Department regulations, and meeting company standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. Additionally, you will inspire, train, and lead the back-of-house team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences that satisfy customers, clients, and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist in coordinating and participating in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
- Collaborate in planning and creating menus.
- Implement new culinary programs alongside the marketing and culinary teams.
- Manage cost controls and monitor expenditures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- 5 years of related culinary experience, including 1 year at the management level.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
- Knowledge of food and industry trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
- ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with MS Office products including Excel.
