Job Summary
Compass Group, the world’s leading contract foodservice company, has a great opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Systems Administrator with Accounting Services’ Business Intelligence and Projects team.
Our team creates and supports workflow automation for accounting teams and their business process, which includes accounting uploads/entries, account reconciliation, accounting close and reporting, internal controls and workforce/task management. Applications and tools, such as Power Automate, are used to automate manual repetitive tasks and processes saving time and reducing errors.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for specialized accounting/financial reconciliation and automation systems and end users (ReconArt, Datawatch, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and respond timely to/solve application-related problems and support requests
- Identify, test and implement technological solutions and system changes to solve systems or data-related problems
- Work with cross-functional teams (Compass IT, Third Party Vendors, Business Leads, Project teams)
- Perform system administration and maintenance tasks and activities per daily, weekly and monthly requirements (including system-related accounting close activities)
- Manage all master and other data (including data creation, update, and deletion) and monitor automated data loads
- Participate in system balancing to ensure data integrity and resolution of all data-related problems/issues
- Identify and recommend system and process improvements to management
- Maintain system, project, and support request-related records/documentation for performance reporting
- Respond to all system and data related Audit or Quality Assurance requests timely
- Facilitate and foster working environment that is proactive, innovative, accountable and efficient
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems or business administration accounting/finance with Information Systems concentration
Experience:
- 2+ years previous experience supporting accounting and finance systems and systems projects. Basic knowledge of accounting & finance business process is required.
Skills:
- Experience supporting specialized financial software (e.g. Blackline, Trintech, ReconArt, Hyperion, etc.) is a major plus
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and working with relational databases e.g. Microsoft SQL Server and SQL code
- Proficiency as a user or power user in SAP or other ERP is a major plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills)
- Experience with code development using Microsoft Power Platform Applications (Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate)
- Experience using Azure Dev Ops for software product development and support
- Exceptional customer service skills and a positive can-do attitude
- A strategic thinker: detail oriented, organized, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms
